Where the boundary is
We state the limits plainly, because you should know exactly what you are getting.
- Not included: One site One licence covers one domain. www.example.com and example.com are the same site; a second domain needs a second licence.
- Not included: Definitions update weekly, not daily A signature published on Monday may not reach a Free site until the following weekly bundle.
- Not included: No firewall Free scans and hardens. It does not block malicious requests before WordPress runs them — that is the Plus firewall.
- Not included: No deep scanning or real-time monitoring Free scans core files. Themes, plugins, uploads, the database, and file-change watching are Plus and Pro.

The plugin is served from your IronGuardWP account, not from this page, so the download is always the current release and stays tied to your licence.
You need two things: the plugin, and a licence key
- Step: The plugin file A standard WordPress plugin zip. Install it under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Step: A licence key Free issues one at $0, with no card. You paste it into the plugin once, and that is what activates it.
Key required
The download on its own will not protect your site. Installed without a licence key the plugin stays inactive: it cannot reach your account, so it fetches no malware definitions and scans nothing. The key costs nothing — take it before or after you download, but you do need it.
The download opens your account on app.ironguardwp.com. The key comes from the same $0 Whop checkout as “Get Started Free” above — it is the same signup, not a second one.
